Roundlake or Coosa Fiveridge, Amblema elliotti

Species description
The Coosa fiveridge is a thick-shelled species with five or more ridges running the length of each valve.

Life cycle
The breeding season and host fish for the glochidia are unknown.

Natural history and range
This unionid is endemic to the Coosa River system.  It is historically known from the Coosawattee, Oostanaula, and Conasauga rivers in areas with shallow runs, moderate current, and a substrate of sand and gravel.

Conservation status
Not endangered or threatened but considered vulnerable.  Populations seem to be stable at this time.
