Species description and life cycle
These small freshwater snails are poorly known.

Natural history
These small freshwater snails live in riffle areas of clean headwater streams.

Range
These snails once inhabited the Coosa River basin of Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Conservation status
Most of these snails are vulnerable and some may be extinct.  The spindle elimia is thought to be extinct.  The ornate elimia is critically endangered and nearly extinct.  The file elimia and the upland hornsnail are vulnerable.  Only the coldwater elimia has a stable population.
