The majority of reptiles are rarely seen by humans. Many can be found in or near freshwater and forested areas.

The species presented in this guide are only the most common reptiles that you should easily be able to see on or near the UGA campus. For more information on these and other reptiles of the area please refer to one of several printed field guides to reptiles and amphibians of this area.
