Welcome to the adult path for the Garden Earth Naturalist Club! The Naturalist Club website is designed to introduce children to their local ecosystems through fun on-line stories and games as well as outdoor exploration activities and stewardship projects. Children and adults may access the club’s materials online. You may also wish to become a member of the club. Club members receive tools to complete activities, curricular materials, and advance notice of Club events. The goal of the site is to help children understand that nature’s ecosystems provide “free services” that support all life on earth. To make these services more understandable to children we call them “service departments. Please click here to learn more about ecosystem services. We encourage adult involvement with children as they navigate through the site and engage in outdoor exploration and stewardship. Extra background information and curricular materials for formal and informal educators, including agendas for one hour and two hour programs, and correlation to national and Georgia education standards (QCC), can be accessed in each service department module. We encourage children to take a step further and work to help Garden Earth through a stewardship project. Stewardship projects can be done individually or by a group and they
can be organized by children or adults. Children who complete stewardship
projects are eligible for a prize, and mention
on our website or in our newsletter. The stewardship application form
can be downloaded in the Kids in Action Section of each Department.
As an adult you may wish to encourage your child or a group of children
to complete a stewardship project. Please
click here to learn more about the guidelines for stewardship projects.
