Agendas
for One and Two hour Programs
We encourage the use of this material among formal and informal education
groups such as after school groups or 4-H. Below are suggested agendas
for presenting information in a way that is easy to understand. We hope
that children will continue to investigate pollination on their own,
with a parent on our website, or through a stewardship project.
For a One Hour Program:
- 5 minutes: Introduce the idea of pollination and why it is important.
- Ask the students to think about how many plants they use in a day.
- Would we be able to use those plants if pollination did not happen?
- 15 minutes: Demonstrate Pollination using a student as a flower.
- 15 minutes: Dissect a flower
- 15 minutes: Flower observation
- 10 minutes: Hand out Pollination Packets and discuss activities
for children to complete at home (voluntary).
For a Two Hour Program:
- 5 minutes: Introduce the idea of pollination and why it is important.
- Ask the students to think about how many plants they use in a day.
